  • Recommend a tasty small plum tomato

I'm growing a couple of cherry toms (Sungold and Bottondoro) but want to grow a small plum type as well. Can anyone recommend a favourite variety? Thanks.

Grew Floridity a couple of years back and the grandchildren loved them

Hmmm but I have a more 'adult' taste! Thanks.

I like Prince Borghese, mostly for sun-drying but they are nice roasted and just munched too.

I think I've tried these moons ago, we oven-dried them and preserved them in oil - yummy.

I have grown Ildi for the last couple of years. Yellow fruit, massive trusses and yield. Not a sweet as sungold so would balance out the sweetness in your salads/salsa. It also carries on the colour theme as you appear opposed to red tomatoes

Lol. Not true. But we've grown Ildi and indeed quite liked them. Just want a small red plum this time.

Blush, Lucky Tiger, Maglia Rosa are usually highly rated by tomatoheads ().

I've not grown this tom but the RHS recommends Tomato 'Rosada' for taste.

I think it is no more. I read about it's demise, as the seeds are from Asia and not registered in the EU.

Yes, because of EU regs we weren't allowed to buy it any more *sigh* GW recommended Santonio, Apero or Floridity as replacements..

Ah the reason for B****t... it all makes sense! If we are no longer in the EU we can grow Rosada!!!

(please don't boot me off the vine for mentioning the B word. I promise to do better )

Oh goodness Scarlet, I did have a quick look last night, but one is 69 pages long and the other 107! But that is why I tried to specify 'type' of tomato I was looking for.
