      Have you tried Bonica? It always does really well for me. But I've gone off growing them now. Aubergines always seem to attract lots of aphids into my greenhouse. And was giving most of them away anyway. it was fun growing them. But not worth it for me for the amount I was using

          I always grow aubergine plants,but whether I get aubergines or not is another story! I’m trying to chit seeds in a wet paper towel in a plastic box,on top of a hot water bottle,all inside another larger box. Why make it easy with my heated propagator when I’ve got an experiment to do
          They do well in a small plastic mini greenhouse,it gets very humid and helps the fruit to set.

                I even tried growing them on year on the sunny kitchen windowsill as well as in the GH, but still no aubergines.

                    Theodore Roosevelt on failing to grow aubergines. He doesn't actually mention them but I am convinced that is what he is talking about.

                    A bit gender specific, but it dates from about 1910 when things were different.

                              By the sound of it this is a challenge I need to be a part of ......... challenge accepted.

                              Think its now time to polish both heated propogators off and look at going through my seed packets for some suitable candidates to attempt this one. Never grown them and they sound difficult to get going but its a challenge I can't let slip by.

                              Actually I hate the things, to me they taste like pencil lead and look unappealing but some of my asian friends will snap my hands off at the thought of some free ones lol.

                                Try some of the red Lollo Rosso. The slugs and snails seem to avoid it. Don't know why though. Because it taste lovely
