Right, just sorted through my seed packets and got:
4 x Black Beauty ( 1 x sow bf 2017, 3 x sow bf 2019) may not use because -
1 x Black Beauty sow bf 2022 (15 seeds)
1 x Black Beauty sow bf 2020 (umteen seeds)
1 x Long Purple sow bf 2020 (180 seeds)
all from the two gardening magazines from your local supermarket, won't mention their names in case I suffer the wrath of VC lol.
The next BIG challenge was to find the electric propagators I carefully stored away in a place I'd remember ...... NOT, either spare room, garage or shed. Turns out they were stored in the last place I decided to look , the shed.
So now its full steam ahead to attempt to get the blighters to germinate of which I've had limited success in the past so its fingers crossed with that one.The day that Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck ...
... is the day they make vacuum cleaners

I've never succeeded with getting actual fruit off my aubergines either, and usually I prefer tomatoes in my greenhouse to aubergines, so they have to go outside. This year I will hopefully have my tunnel sorted, so there should be room there

I wasn't going to try them, but my brother and his partner just bought me a bunch of seeds, and aubergines are in there. I guess I'm growing them too this year!

I've never grown aubergines but am having a go this year. Got two varieties...Black Beauty and Long Purple...and I plan to sow them tomorrow, Monday 16th.
Handy tip about growing them with melons (got 3 types of those this year) so I'll see how they turn out.
I'm having a bash at growing LOTS of new things this year .If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/
