Beans don't usually grow much outside over winter, it's too cold. Provided the roots are healthy they should start growing on again soon as the weather warms up - 3 to 4 foot high is what I would expect - don't forget to put some supports in before they start podding up as the tops get too heavy for the stems - a few bits of stick or cane with some string or old wool wound round in a cat's cradle type effect will do the job.
