I did this too so I have extras, about 7kg planted in total. The shoots will definitely grow.

Put mine in yesterday to give me something to do. Stacks of compost on top to help keep frost at bay.

I wasn’t going to do spuds this year, due to room, but with things as they are I decided to go for it. I’ve struggled to find any for sale.
I’ve now found some from Primrose, so it just remains to be seen if and when they arrive..

my earlies went into containers is a blow away2 weeks ago (first sign of green showing today!) 2nds and main crop in containers last week under fleece. I still have some more to put out but waiting a couple of weeks due to weather, and also the great compost shortage...

Was going to do my first, second, and main crop next week.

Given the weather does anyone see any issues with this, should I cover with fleece?
                    Cheers

I’ve just ordered mine. As I wasn’t planning on growing any this year.
I had to go through quite a few companies before I found any still in stock.
Seem this lockdown is making everyone jump on the grow your own band wagon. Which is a very good thing.

Mine went in at the beginning of March. They're in the greenhouse and most have come up now.

I have planted 3 tubs up outside of early and second early and one left to plant of ratte. Although it has been cold outside at night the garden is sheltered so they should be ok.

Just planted up three tubs of anyas, and three tubs of Foremost (new ones im trying this year). Still got loads of anyas left, so i may do a couple of buckets for my sisters and leave them on their doorsteps.

Also sowed some peas, red spring onions, beetroot, and broccoli.

Just got the first earlies in at the plot, before Gove changes his mind and decides I can't go

Having to dig over the area (was a chicken run and full of nettles) so hopefully I can get a few rows of main crops in there as well before lockdown take 2.

Planted out some Arran Pilot and Jazzy today.

Main crop (Maris Piper) will go in couple of weeks time if they get delivered
