I got my first and second earlies in a week ago.
Main crop will go in around mid April.
I also have some Violet Queen I bought from Tesco. I really liked them, so I saved five to try growing. I've got them in my conservatory trying to chit them at the moment.

I've not planted any, but then I haven't been to the allotment for a LONG time. I will not be in a hurry though as I will only do salad potatoes this year, and they will only go in once I have filled all the space with all the other things that I want to grow

Greenhouse, pot-grown first earlies went in 2nd February and will be ready to harvest about 2-3 weeks from now.
Outside, my International Kidney went in 4 weeks ago and are just about to break surface. Maincrop Desiree and Setanta went in 3 weeks ago, no sign yet.

If things were different, they would have gone in today, but I don't have enough compost for potatoes and everything else I want to grow. If my landlord will let me dig up a patch of lawn then they could go in next weekend. I say dig up, but would have to just cover the grass with cardboard, cut some holes and place them on the soil, then try to mulch over the top. I don't want to have to dig to get them up (no spade/garden fork, the less I disturb the lawn the better, and the lower the chance of accidentally leaving any behind to cause trouble for future tenants).

I put 10 potatoes in three bags by the back door in the past week. The rest that will go in the plot at the bottom of the garden will go in as soon as there’s no sign of frost on XCWeather for my postcode!
Due to the current situation I have saved some of last years Charlottes from a hessian sack that have sprouted. Can I plant them? Are the long sprouting shoots just big chits?
