Dunno - I leave them to their own devices and never had a problem with pollination or bitterness.
Some retailers say they're F1 - I don't buy from them as they also send less seeds than a site that doesn't pretend.
Bought these last time - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Premier-See.../dp/B00NW9J2D2Last edited by veggiechicken; 30-03-2020, 07:47 PM.

Delistar has lovely fine skins, really lovely. It's an F1 unfortunately, so expensive seeds. Worth it to me though, as OH is happy to eat these, though he doesn't usually like cucumber much.Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.

I've grown Cucino, Mini Munch and La Diva. There doesn't seem to be much to choose between them in terms of taste or productivity, but I found La Diva produced a lot of male flowers which I tried to remove but there were far too many. I didn't get any bitter fruit though.
All 3 of these will grow outdoors.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy
