  • Chilli seedlings wilting.

    Hello
Quite a few of my chillies which were about an inch tall have wilted. They were in my greenhouse but I’d be surprised if they got that hot? Soil hasn’t dried out.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks

To cold for them to be in the greenhouse. Get them in doors in the warm.
Most people won’t be putting chillies into greenhouses or tunnels until mid May at the earliest.

It's probably too cold, but if they're right by the window, too hot may also be a possibility. Seedlings have very few roots, remember, so they have pretty limited ability to absorb water, which means they can dehydrate easily.
Three of my chilli seedlings were limp, all at the window end of my heated propagator. They had been limp for days. I accidentally left the lid off yesterday, and when I went back to it a few hours later, those limp seedlings were perky and upright again. I think they were just too hot because they were right by the window.
