Just planted out a tray and a half of sweetcorn Swift. I dont do much more than germinate them in the modules before getting them out. Even so some of these had roots 10cm long curled up in the module

Added a pinch of Rootgrow in each hole then 20mm from sprinkler.

I start mine in rootrainers to give them a bit more room before they hit the bottom.

With a few frosty nights forecast here I'm glad I haven't started mine yet, but I'll be chitting them this week.

I may be tempting fate but we shouldn't have a proper air frost now. My guess is no lower than 5 or 6C. May get a bit of grass frost but I will cover the sweetcorn with fleece if that looks likely.

I’ve started mine in my greenhouse now, I’m aiming to plant out around the beginning of june.

Right. Planted 10 in wee pots today. Have covered them and put fleece over and left in gh. Will see how they get on. Can always bring them in he house if I need to.

I have mine in propgator in small pot, son as they are up will prick out into toilet rolls. Sowing earlier for me this year after a miserable harvest last year compared to past

If it's of any interest, most of mine are now up and some are starting to unfurl foliage
