  • Cucumber seedling yellow leaves

Hi I bought cucumber plug plants a few weeks ago. I’ve put them in cardboard pots. The leaves are turning yellow

I read this could be due to over watering or nitrogen difficiency. Would Tomorite help if the latter?

I would arrach a pic but can’t see how to!

    Any advice appreciated

    Thanks

I would ask you to add your location and where the plants are situated? Welcome to the vine btw.

      Hi Natalie and welcome!

Your "paper pots"? Are they those cardboard "Jiffy" pots?
They're difficulty to keep watered. Try replanting the seedlings into a plastic pot/yoghurt tub (with holes in the bottom) and keep them indoors on the windowsill in good light but not strong sunlight. Its too soon to use Tomorite - keeo that for when they'e fruiting.

You'll need to post about 10/12 times before you can post a photo so keep posting!!

I would be almost certain the cardboard pots are to blame. As VC said, put them into plastic pots.
Since the yellowing is likely a nutrient deficiency, feeding them would help (don't give them much, though). Tomato food isn't ideal, but use it if it's all you have, as it does still have nitrogen in it, just not as much.
