    Apart from the money debate, growing your own makes you that little bit more sustainable, especially during this crazy Coronavirus time that could drag on and on and on.

    Have your own veg means fewer trips to the supermarket and you know what you’re getting. At the moment trips to the supermarket are like roulette in that you don’t know what’s in stock from day to day.

      Ah, the slippery slope, "I'll grow a few things in the garden, then a veg patch, it's a bit small, oooh, maybe half a plot would be fun..." Now I've got stuff in the garden, greenhouse, a whole plot, 4 compost heaps and fruit trees....

        Be careful about the sustainability point. If veg is expensive, it becomes steal-able...

          I was chatting with my growing neighbour just the other day about where to mount the searchlights and machine-gun post.......
