  • Online Compost Deliveries

Hi Does anyone know of anywhere doing compost deliveries online? Obviously at a reasonable price etc etc. We usually get the verve stuff from B&Q, sometimes a 120ltr bag or x3 50's.

We want to buy online and get delivered rather than go out and collect. Shame garden centres are closed and not delivering as I would rather support the small local businesses rather than blue chips like B&Q to be fair.

    Kind Regards...Rob

Check out your B&Q, some have opened up. Seems they always had the option to remain open or close and they chose to close, but there has been a change of mind. Likely losing too much trade to ones that remained open.

Guess they will therefore deliver, know they were "click and collect" but check delivery. Wickes were delivering their stuff, just no idea of cost. So I assume B&Q will be the same.

Lucky here, one good trade/hardware place chose to remain open - I needed a new Yale lock. And a big garden centre type place sold food so they were able to remain open. 2 weeks ago I got 8 bags of compost and everyone else had a trolly of various composts.

I think a lot of the garden centres have a cafe and that aspect had to be closed. Still wonder therefore why they couldn't have closed the cafe bit only. Guess not.

I bit the bullet and paid for a Wickes delivery. Luckily my local Asda now has compost so I can get any top up from there.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

Check with your local garden centres, some are doing click and collect. As for reasonable prices, I’m seeing price hikes everywhere.

        Good luck.

There was a good bit of news on TV yesterday with Alan titchmarsh, voicing concerns for garden centres to reopen,I think they are soon. They sell MPC at our Tesco,I got two bags then went back in to do the food shop. If you pop to Tesco at about 8pm there’s no queue here

I struggled to get compost recently and b and q were saying 21 days for a delivery. I couldn't find a local nursery doing deliveries so I did a click and collect from wickes. It meant I got them next day. Think they might do deliveries too

Thanks everyone, my wife managed to search all over virtually everywhere this afternoon and found a localis’ish’ garden centre doing deliveries and we also got some plants on the order. She spent a good part of the day on it bless her.

Thanks everyone, much appreciated and hope other grapes will benefit from the advice too.

              Kind Regards..........Rob

I managed to bag a click & collect amount of compost. (Excuse the pun), 4 big bags of multi purpose about 20 mins drive from my house at an independent GC. Very pleased it was
