    Hi peeps
    Has anyone had problems with mice eating young
    Toms?
    Ive never heard of it before.then again. Every days a school day

    You mean the plants themselves? No, never. In fact the plants are poisonous.

                I've seen smaller seedlings growing in a tray snipped off as you describe and then some of the stems/seedlings taken off to make a nest!

                    Judging by what you've said, I'd suspect a cutworm of some sort. I doubt rodents of any sort would be interested in tomato plants - they have a pungent smell, bitter taste, and are toxic to mammals.

                    The only thing I can suggest is fitting tubes around them stems of your remaining tomato plants, maybe 2-3 inches long and pushed half an inch into the ground, to protect the stems from attack. If you cut a loo roll tube in half down its length, then wrap it around the stem and tape the two ends together, that should be about right.
