Anyone see The Times today?
"Academics at the Uni of Kuopio grew 3 batches of cabbages: one with no fertiliser, one with commercial fertiliser and one drenched with human urine. The urine-soaked batch grew prodigiously...and the vegetables were no less nutritious for it. Our results show that human urine ... does not pose any significant hygienic threat or leave any distinctive flavour"
in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
I guess it should be fresh urine though, not left for any length of time as it will turn to ammonia?
Still, I'll stick to putting it on the compost heap instead of directly, methinks.
