Where do you get your seeds from?

Hi there all

I thought I would ask where everyone got their seeds from as I'm interested to shop around. I get a lot of mine from Kings Seeds or Thompson & Morgan but recently discoverd the Organic Catalogue.

It would be interesting to get a list of everyone's favourite suppliers so that we can shop around to get the best deals.

So where do you buy from...weblinks would be much appreciated.

I buy all of my potatoes from T&M and have found them to be great. As for other seeds, quite a few come from Seeds of Italy.

Their pepper and tomato selections are good with regional varieties that are used to hot dry weather, big seed packets and great value.

This year I got most of my seeds from either Dobies or Sutton's. My tatties, onions, shallots and garlic, I got from my local GC - as well as some other seeds - my local GC stocks Unwins range of seeds

Thompson and Morgan are my favourite my only gripe is that their potato catalogue is seperate to the seed one and when doing it on the 'net' I have to do 2 seperate orders and checkouts

Alan Romans on the internet. No fancy packing hence cheaper prices and so far, good germination and a decent quantity of seed in each foil, web address is www.alanromans.com

ooh - not heard of alan romans - will have a gander.

I use T&M alot but what annoys me is if you make an order online, you automatically get added to their mailing list database and end up with video catalogues, dvd catalogues and every other catalogue they have, sent to you over and over again.

I spent most of last month phoning them up and complaining about their crap process and getting to delete my name from their database. Everytime I made an order online I was given a new customer number and so was registered with them several times. They told me they were working on improving their system so hopefully they will do something about it.

My favourite seed supplier is Thompson and Morgan. I think there is a far better germination percentage (usually 100%) with their seeds. We also use Suttons Seeds, Seeds By Size and this year we are trying Simpsons and Edwin Tuckers but one packet from the new people didnot germinate at all.

It's my first year, but I got most of mine from the Organic Catalogue and have been pleased so far.

I got most of mine from the organic catalogue. I also tend to plant anything past its best in the fridge at planting time. This year baby plum tomatoes and yellow peppers, both had a very good germination rate.

I buy Suttons and Mr Fothergills (do they sell in the british isles) also T&M. Potatoes, onion setts and garlic from local gardrn centre but will try organic and seeds of dictinction and seed by size feom now on as the price of seed in Ireland is really high as they are all english firms.

Most of my seeds this year have come from Dobies and Marshalls. Some from seeds of Italy which I couldn't get elsewhere and all of my fruit from Ken Muir.
Not had any problems so far and everything has germinated really well.
