      The variety which has over-wintered best for us is Cherry Bomb. We've had one plant for 3 years now, and another couple are 2 year olds. I was hoping to keep a couple of Alberto's Locoto going this winter, but the kittens have shredded them and used the pots as litter-trays Little beggars

        Oooh, ooh oooh, you may have solved the mystery of my Chili "C" plant. Are the chilis quite pointed at the end?

          My Cayenne looked like this, but I haven't managed to overwinter them.

          Sorry, seems the link is broken.

              Oh I have labels a plenty, it's just the muppet that writes on them that's the problem. I have 4 varieties of chillis and they are labelled thus:

              Chilli J
              Chilli PT
              Chilli T
              Chilli C

              J = Jalepeno
              PT = Purple Tiger
              T = Twighlight
              C = ?

              Anyway, that's for another thread.

                    They are 100% cayenne (Editing to say. great pickled by the way, better than jalapeno). Sorry for the new boy to stick his oar in (no I'm not) but although I just started on 'ordinary' veg, I grow 9 varieties of chillies. In winter I just chop back and put them in the greenhouse. No problems.

                    I am trying 'Naga' this year for when the in-laws come for dinner.

                    Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

                    Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?

                      I'll take a picturegraph tomorrow - they're hidden behind the curtains at the moment.

                        I brought my Cayenne plant in the house in Oct. It is still flowering, growing a little and producing new fruit slowly. I can't wait to put it out in the spring!

                          So do we take it that 'Naga' are brilliant or fiery-inferno-throat-burning?

                            I presume we're talking Dorset or Naga Morich

                            naga chile pepper database

                            see at the bottom of the page...

                            Tesco were selling Dorset Naga this summer, I've saved some seeds to try growing next year. They were very hot, but also tasty.

                              I mean Dorset Naga Smallblueplanet and Frannie, definitely the latter. They might even shut my daughter-in-law up. (Some hopes). I do grow tepins
                              which are very very hot. Apparently Naga is 8 times hotter. Not always a good thing of course (unless the d. in law is coming for a korma).

                                I bought two chilli plants a few weeks back from the flower shop, i was assured they ARE edible, although unnamed.
                                tested them, didn't die, nice and hot, put them on kitchen windowsil.
                                then the central heating kicked in and i stupidy forgot them, all the leaves dropped off.
                                so i quickly watered them and prayed.
                                today both are FULL off blossom, danged hardy these chillies, and peppers, i am having real trouble killing them off
