  • Where can I get 'giant hands'?

    No cheeky answers, lol!

I've just been watching a kids tv prog (Tommy Zoom, if you're interested!) and the little boy in it had some sort of 'giant hand' attachments for picking up his garden clippings. I would LOVE some! It did occur to me that I might be able to fashion something similar out of bits and bobs lying around but if they're not too much to buy, then it would be easier all round to do that. I'm sure there's a better Google search to do than I've managed... perhaps someone could point me in the right direction?

Think I have seen them in the Kleeneze book.

Two bits of thin plywood or hardboard do just the same thing! If its for leaves, just rake or lift them with the boards, into the centre of an old sheet/ blanket or taup and gather up the corners! Job's a good un!

'leaf grabbers'... yes, a better thing to search for than 'giant hands'

I shall have a look in Wilko and the local DIY type places before ordering online then - I've never seen them locally but then again I wasn't looking until I saw Tommy Zoom making such good use of them, lol!

I've seen it in Wilko before, flat green plastic grabber. Sorry can't remember the price but they're usually cheaper there than DIY stores & GC.

Yep your right Seahorse. Young Archie loves his Tommy Zoom but also loves coming to the lottie with dad. At the age of 2 he really enjoys coming with me and even now is a demon with a rake.

Looks good Seahorse, and you can buy them, or similar , in any garden centre. I just use an old pair of gardening gloves and scoop them up myself. Works well for me.
