  • Wine and tomato plants!!

Hello! I've just registered and thought I'd start picking everyones brains straight away!
First topic is tomatos. I have just started hardening off my plants (alisa craig) but got carried away with some friends and a bottle or two of wine monday night and left the plants outside till about 11pm. The next morning a lot of the leaves were whiteish and looked wilted.

Could this be due to the temperature change? Have I killed/stunted them for good or will they survive?

HI MissyMoo and welcome to the 'vine. Keep your sanity if you can

I did that a few weeks ago to mine (though not after the wine, just forgetfullness)

I thought they were a goner and brought them in and left them in a sunny spot. They stayed porely lookign for a few weeks but didn't die off and have now got a flush of new leaves! I did notice a bit of green cam eback to the whotened leave though, anlthough they never did get back to the origional state...

I'd stay bring them in and keep an eye on them for watering etc... they may come back

    Good luck!

Thanks Shortie, but I think the sanity was replaced with obsession when I started this gardening lark!!!
Some of the plants look like they might pull through but I've sowed some new ones to hedge my bets.

Nice to know that there are others out there doing the same silly things that I seem to do all the time!!

Oh trust me, I ALWAYS do daft things. I wonder why my OH puts up with my sometimes, and doesn't just leave it to **the look** (you know, the one that says, ohmygodwhathaveImarried all in one glance?)
