Looking at the weather forecast (ha ha!) Sunday is the day to get anything done outside - at least here in the Midlands. It's a shame then that I've got such 'spech visitors that day....... (*bob curtsey)

Why not get your 'spech visitors to help you at the Hill then

See her MOMliness tottering up the Hill in her Christmas sling back stilletto wellies and see Belinda try and curtsey in THAT tight skirt

Sorry Hazel dearest but they need to be with us by 4ish or they wont be able to get in cos we will be out. With that in mind a teeny weeny bit of weeding may be all they have time for.

Hmm. Bacon sarnie & cup of tea on arrival, tour of the Hill (taking in Social Club) back for mince pies with mum, and chucking them out at 3pm latest, PW - looks like I'll be planting my own shallots...

I've planted over a thousand shallots, garlic and onions over the past three weeks - and I need to get mine in soon!!!

Too busy with all this cooking and socialising ...........

Still have a couple of days next week I think and if nobody else tells the little bulbs they're going in a week late, I wont.

I put my garlic and onions in around the second week in October. Iv'e got about 4" on the onions and 2" on the garlic. I will probably put some more in during spring time as the autumn onions won't keep so well and the garlic will just be all gone Yum.

                          Hello folks,

I'm new here, just got an allotment have been waiting for a while to get it, and I read in an old copy of GYO that you should plant on the shortest day. After reading the posts here, I'm going to plant some in a few hours time.

Hiya! Hope you got some planted, round here we'd have needed a small jack-hammer to get any in the soil!
