    why dose some of my garlic have multiple stems

    Don't worry about it. Sometimes when we split the original bulb up into cloves, there are cloves within cloves, similar to shallots.

    What I would imagine will happen is that the ones with multiple heads will have more, but smaller cloves when they mature thats all!

            Possibly.........but second picture looks like dual stems to me!

              Yes, I think there's one at least with a double stem. I've got a few like that but I'm just going to let them get on with it. Any garlic is good garlic.

                I've had this happen for the first time, too - a dozen cloves planted, and three have two stems.

                I have never had particularly large bulbs before, anyway (oo-er missus!), so I don't mind.
