  • when to buy spuds for growing?

    Hi All

I have a stupid question to ask, when should I start to buy my potatoes to grow next year. I had great success last year, still have some in the shed and keeping well.

I have forgotten when the right time to buy , ie when they are available from T & M and garen centers, and I don't want to forget and then finally remember but all shops have sold out.

    Cheers
    Loz

Just bear in mind though that some people in that thread are overexcitable and have no will power to wait until a more sensible time. Not me, obviously
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Buy seed potatoes as soon as you can. Put them somewhere cool and light to chit (sprout), and plant when the weather is right.

yep visited a few Garden centers and a few have them in stock, A few I think are waiting to get rid of the xmas stock then they will get on with the veg stuff.

I ordered from t&m last year and had great success BUT fancy a change this year.

I am showing an enormous amount of self restraint and am waiting until potato day at Ryton - now I'm a member of HSL, I think I get in on the day before the 'public' do!
