My experiences with growing unusual vegetables
Maca: total failure, after searching for the seeds which I got ( like Snadger ) from Sud America and rather expensive. Sowed, germinated and eventually transplanted with loving care in my allotment only to discover that our native weeds do not like Maca among them so no maca!! i will try again this year!!!!
Other failures: Beans yard long.
on the other hand several good results with
[B]SCORZONERA, ARTICHOKES BOTH GLOBE AND JERUSALEM, BURDOCK ( LACTIUM LAPPA ) CARDOONS[B]which if cooked properly they taste fine (if you like a bitter taste) and of course the biggest success is[B]CUCUZZE ( Snakes of Sicily ) which I was honoured by our beloved Wellie to be crowned as the King of Cucutsi.
Surely there is a pleasure in trying growing some different vegs together with our usual ones.
Happy New Growing Year to everyboby!! hopeful we will get some summer.
