  • Anya potatoes?

Since posting my thread on Desiree spuds being best and PFA being second best (in my opinion!) I've realised there is a cross between these two tasteful spuds called Anya!
Anyone on the vine grown Anya spuds before and your comments please!

They taste just like PFA snadger and look like a less knobbly version to boot so much easier to prep. I love them having grown them last year.

      Spud U like.

I grew some in pots last year, a very nice Salad spud. Tubers dont get too big and they are smaller than the average spud, not easily peeled due to size, so hence a salad spud.

But very nice all the same.

We don't peel any of our spuds, is that eccentric?

Fancy trying some Anya this year, hope the GC has some.

          Still spud U like.

I saw some at Wyvale half an hour ago.

I bought 10 Rooster Seed potatos from Wilkinsons for £1.90 .. 2 hours ago. Never grown them before but heard good reports.

Grew them last year. Lovely. Wilkinson's have them in stock I think.

Yep, I grew Anya in 2006, they were lovely, but I neglected to save any to replant.

I haven't grown them Snadger, but I do buy them, And my order of preference FOR FLAVOUR would be
Pink Fir Apple - long jump down to
Anya - big jump down to
                Desiree.
                But it's just personal taste.

I think you're probably right there, just as well I bought seed potatoes for PFA as well, as Anya would be dragged down a bit by its other parent Desiree which in my personal opinion is pretty average tasting (sorry folks!).

Not really: they're waxy not fluffy. You want a nice Rooster or Desiree for mashing. And a McCain for chipping
