Marion, I've got 15 seeds coming and won't want more than a couple of plants, so I'll have plenty for you too if you don't win what you've bid on.

Hmm, Hmmm, Hmmm.....I'm not listening, la la la....
Stop it shirl, we've got too many already. But if anyone grows them would love to know how they get on. They look soo odd!
ps don't forget if you all make an order from outside the UK/EU area if its over £18 before p&p you could get Vat & customs. Although are seeds zero-rated? So you'd probably be okay. Ignore me I'm just waffling......To see a world in a grain of sand

Hey guys stop buying up ebay!
I hope they are red cukes, just found another site here, they look less red?
The fruits are white to pale green, turning golden-orange as they ripen. A very productive and tasty variety that stays mild even when large. This heirloom was collected from a Hmong (Meo) immigrant. Millions of the Hmong tribe live on the borders of Thailand, China, Burma, Laos and Vietnam and are a very ancient people.

Oh now see Manda, that was *almost* helpful in reminding me that things are not always what they seem. But you included a link to an entire catalogue of tempting goodies! D'oh!
I think they still look quite funky in the pic you found thoughI was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

SUPER CUCUMBER
' DAVE '
VERY EARLY AND HIGH YIELDING
INCREDIBLE DISEASE RESISTANCE.
TRUE BREEDING VARIETY THAT SEED COMPANIES TRIED TO SUPPRESS.
THIS IS SOMETHING A LITTLE BIT SPECIAL.
THIS VARIETY WAS DEVELOPED AT THE START OF A COMMERCIAL BREEDING PROGRAM LOOKING INTO CREATING NEW F1 HYBRID STRAINS OF CUCUMBERS.
IT WAS CREATED AS A GENETICALLY STABLE, TRUE BREEDING PARENT FOR THE RESULTING TRIALS.
WHEN THE RESULTS WERE ANALYSED IT WAS FOUND THAT THIS PARENT STRAIN HAD PERFORMED BETTER IN THE TRIALS THAN ANY OF THE F1 HYBRID OFFSPRING.
IT WAS COMPACT, VIGOROUS, EARLIER TO FRUIT, HIGHER YIELDING AND INCREDIBLY RESISTANT TO NEARLY ALL KNOWN CUCUMBER DISEASES.
IT WAS IN FACT RESISTANT TO ANTHRACNOSE, POWDERY MILDEW, SCAB, DOWNY MILDEW, ANGULAR LEAF SPOT, BLOTCH AND CUCUMBER MOSAIC VIRUS.
IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH IT TASTED DELICIOUS TOO WITH CRISP, JUICY FLESH WITHOUT A HINT OF BITTERNESS.
AND IT WAS BURPLESS !!!
AS WE ALL KNOW F1 HYBRID CUCUMBER SEED IS EXPENSIVE TO BUY AND MAKES HUGE PROFITS FOR THE SEED COMPANIES. ALSO F1 HYBRID SEED HAS TO BE PURCHASED EVERY YEAR AS THE RESULTING SEEDS DO NOT COME TRUE TO TYPE.
THIS WAS THE LAST THING SEED COMPANIES WANTED.
A TRUE BREEDING CUCUMBER THAT OUTCLASSED ALL F1 HYBRIDS ON THE MARKET !!!
PEOPLE WOULD GROW IT AND BE ABLE TO SAVE THEIR OWN SEED !!!
THE STRAIN WAS DROPPED FROM FUTURE TRIALS AND WOULD NOW BE SITTING, FORGOTTEN IN A SEEDBANK IF NOT FOR A STRANGE TWIST OF FATE.
A FRIEND OF A FRIEND ( LETS CALL HIM DAVE ) HAPPENED TO WORK FOR THE HORTICULTURAL RESEARCH COMPANY AND WAS INVOLVED IN THE F1 HYBRID TRIALS.
HE KNEW A GOOD CUCUMBER WHEN HE SAW ONE AND FELT VERY SAD THAT SUCH A GOOD STRAIN SHOULD NOT BE GROWN BUT WHAT COULD HE DO ?
ONE DAY AS HE WAS SORTING AND GRADING SOME OF THE CUCUMBER SEED READY FOR STORAGE HE ACCIDENTALLY TRIPPED AND FELL AND SOME OF THE SEED INADVERTENTLY ENTERED HIS POCKET.
THESE SEEDS ACCIDENTALLY FELL OUT OF HIS POCKET WHILE HE WAS WORKING IN HIS GREENHOUSE AT HOME AND GREW SO WELL HE WAS ABLE TO GIVE SOME OF THE SEED TO FRIENDS AND TO FRIENDS OF FRIENDS.
SUPER CUCUMBER ' DAVE ' WAS FREE AT LAST.
YOU ARE BIDDING ON 5 FRESH ORGANIC SEEDS.
BUY THESE AND YOU MAY NEVER HAVE TO BUY OVERPRICED F1 HYBRID CUCUMBER SEEDS AGAIN.
EASY AND VERY REWARDING FROM SEED THIS VARIETIES DISEASE RESISTANCE MAKES IT IDEAL FOR ORGANIC CULTURE.
THE YIELD FROM CROPS UNDER GLASS OR IN A POLYTUNNEL IS PHENOMENAL, YOU WILL BE GIVING THEM AWAY !!!
HARDY ENOUGH TO BE GROWN OUTDOORS IN WARMER AREAS.
I HAVE THE STRAIN NUMBER AND PARENTAGE OF THIS VARIETY BUT PLEASE DON'T ASK AS THE ANONYMITY OF ' DAVE ' MUST BE PROTECTED.
FULL GERMINATION AND CULTURAL DETAILS SUPPLIED.
PLEASE SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS FOR MORE UNUSUAL SPECIES.
