    i have a dozen maris piper main crop seed potatoes chitting in the window sill of my wc. they all have a green colour to them since ive put them in the window sill is this right because i thought green spuds were poisonous. 1st time doing seeds spuds so advice would be welcome.

    No need to worry Hawthorns, the seed one doesn't get eaten and has no influence on the ones you will pick - it is just the source of them. You are quite right that green spuds will make you ill, that's why you earth up the potato plant as it grows to make sure the forming tubers stay well covered and don't got green.
