      Cheers Dobby, Will sow my cauliflower seeds tomorrow, what cabbage have you started off, I’ve got 3 different Cabbages ‘Greyhound’ seed pk says sow feb/jul & harvest jun/oct – (summer) 'Golden Acre/Primo II'- that say to sow mar/apr- & harvest jul/sept and Savoy 'Resolution' F1 to sow in apr/may & harvest sept/nov.
      The Purple sprouting broccoli say on seed pk to sow in april so will wait till then and harvest mar/apr. Must take a year to grow oh well

        Hi Gardenplot - I'm going to sow my Cauli 'Andes' in Greenhouse tomorrow, as it says on the packet, but way our climate is going, and taking account regional variations then you see why there is such a wide spread on sowing dates on seed packets, but nothing ventured, nothing gained - and you can always keep some seed for a later sowing!

          Just don't sow all your seeds at once folks, if you do you will either have to buy a new packet to sow again, or you will be wondering what the heck to do with all the cauliflowers that are ready at the same time!
          Happy Gardening,

            I've always wondered why there are so many seeds in a packet - but great if you sow little & often (and have the disasters I have had!)

                      planted last week in 5" pots;

                      cabbbage primo 2 = 3
                      cabbage robinsons giant = 2
                      cauli autumn giant = 3
                      red cabbage = 3
                      calabresse = 8
                      brussels maximus f1 = 8

                      i will be sowing the same again of every thing above apart from calabresse and brussels in febuary and march then start my spring cabbages of in july with my swedes.

                        I too started some cauli this weekend, just 6 seeds in a pot. If they fail, haven't lost too much. Plan to do 2 or 3 more sowings 2 weeks apart - I don't need too many caulis anyway.
