    My broadbeans are in pots in the tunnel they are nearly 2 inches high , do you think I could put these out and cover with fleece

    Harden them off KK8 before you plant them out and protect them from the wind which is what does the most damage.

      Put them out on a mild day, and then put them back in at night... and repeat for a few days.

      Once they're more used to the conditions outside, you can plant them - but I think it's still worth covering with fleece or similar even then.

      They're hardy, but I have lost a few in very cold conditions.

        They should be ok if you follow the above advice.

        Beware the bright, sunny day which encourages you to put things out though - at this time of year such days are often followed by freezing nights (no cosy cloud cover, see?).

        Sorry if that's stating the obvious!

          It might be stating the obvious paul but it's good to be reminded, especially as it's been one of those tempting days for us up norf today but by eck it's freezin now.
          is spacetime curved or was einstien round the bend
