It says March 1st is the deadline for requests, so hopefully you'll be ok PW.

I think peas and beans are about the biggest categories!

      You may need to enquire...

Hi Guys, I contacted HSL yesterday because the 28 days is nearly up, and I was getting nervous.

Nice lady phoned me back today. Despite the HSLs best efforts, the problem with their PO Box wasn't entirely resolved back in December, and anyone posting up to about 7/8 Jan might still have had their order mysteriously re-directed to Belfast (it's a long story.....)

So, if you haven't had your seeds yet, it might be worth a phone call. The lady I spoke to this morning took my order immediately over the phone and only one thing which I would have liked (Tomato: Auntie Madges) was already out of stock. I should have the seeds by the middle of next week.

      Hope that helps!

I emailed them yesterday, and the lovely Rachel emailed me back to apologise (really no need, but appreciated the gesture) and to tell me that they will be with me by the weekend.

Bad Royal Mail - boo to you.

        All excited!

          Hi

I joined HSL last time you were raving about it on the Vine (beg Jan I think). They sent me the catalogue about a week later. I ordered my seeds and they sent me my 1st choices about 2 weeks later.

Very pleased. Not sure when to plant them though, as no sowing instructions on the backs of the seeds.

There was a news item posted about this problem before Christmas on the GardenOrganic website - I didn't discover this until sometime in January. I emailed in my list and received the seeds within the week. Spoke to the lovely Rachel at Potato day. Royal Mail currently isn't in their good books!

I had to reorder last week because my order went south also - Rachel told me by email they would be in the mail this week.

I had to re-send my order by email cos of the PO Box address problems. Seeds arrived a few days later. I feel very sorry for the HSL, they must be tearing their hair out over this as so many folks' orders seem to have just 'disappeared'.

I feel a collective "well done" coming on for the folks at HSL, they're doing a grand job anyway, and to add a problem like this, I take my virtual hat off to them all.

                  After three.

I overheard a conversation at Ryton Potato day between the Lady who runs HSL and a punter, she was telling him that the Post Office closed the P.O Box without warning a few weeks after the Seed Catalogue went out, the Post Office then re-opened the P.O box a while later after contacted by HSL, but have admitted all the 'lost' orders will take up to 2 months to be re-directed to Garden Organic.

So GO, are advising people to either E-mail their orders in or phone the number in the seed catalogue and re-order that way.

She said many members had not actually kept a record of what they wanted, so problems arising there.

In all GO have been dropped right in it by the Post Office. Its not like you can shop around for the P.O Box service.
