  • cheap netting

hi all, after learning from my mistakes last year I am determined to keep my brassicas free from cabbage whites (LOL) so I want to invest in some butterfly netting but i wondered which site is the cheapest. Any idea?

You could try the Charity shops for Curtain nets which could help and be cheap and durable.

-thanks for the quick reply! I have used some curtain net but find it hard to get the width i need. I know i could sew it together but blimey! theres only so many hours in the day and I work full time. I must say , though the curtains that i used on the brussels have done a stirling job!

C'mon Raine, how long does it take to sew a seam ! (even by hand with a running stitch, it will be quicker than going shopping for "proper" nets, and much cheaper. You could Wundaweb it ?)

I have tried "proper" net, and have gone back to voile, or net curtains. Its so much stronger and denser than that green plastic netty stuff in the shops.

Got some fine mesh netting from the Pound Shop late last year - going to try it out on my cabbages this year.
