Garlic

Hi, first time here so here goes! Got some Chinese garlic bulbs at Christmas, small complete bulbs not formed into cloves i've planted them in a pot and so far have got leaves, has anyone else tried this and does it work or am i wasting my time? Ta

Hello an Welcome to the vine AJG,

Don't worry about your garlic, you are not wasting any time, they will grow. Garlic need some cold weather to split (and forming cloves) so make sure you set them outside.
I have grown them for the 2nd year, and must say they are pretty easy to grow (but the bulbs were not huge). I grow mine as companion planting for carrot ( to deter the nasty carrot fly). How big is your garlic pot ?

welcome from me too and as momol says you need a long cold snap for the cloves to form so hang on there
