Never tried moneymaker - another for next years list.

Gardeners Delight is mega-prolific, like a triffid! Tasty toms too.

i have to agree that garedners delight is my favourite too. glad to hear that it wasn't just me who had such a bad year with toms in 07. the year before was so good that several of plant's branches were so overladen that they ended up on the ground. good for strawbs in 07 though?!

last year i grew moneymaker (normal size red) and they were lovely - growing them again this year
also grew sakura F1 (red cherry) - they were lovely too - growing them again this year
(i avoided a lot of the blight last year)
this year i'm also growing roma VF (red plum)

i'd love to try some of the others - especially the white one if it's less acidic - i had a stomach ulcer years ago and too many toms not a good idea!

ive got some spare seeds if anyone wants to swap?!

Glad to see Rio Grande on PW's list - I grew some last year, but didn't sow them til mid-April (all my seed sowing was late due to getting lottie in Feb) and with the awful weather starting in May, they just didn't stand a chance Hoping for a much better performance this year, I've already sown a couple of each variety (see below) & will do some more in a couple of weeks.

                    My list for this year is;

                    San Marzano
                    Rio Grande
                    Amish Paste (Real Seeds)
                    Shirley
                    Tamina
                    Sub Arctic Plenty (HSL)
                    Sungold
                    Millefleur (Real Seeds)

                      Oh there is a Tamina

I thought you'd Spoonered/Malapropped (which one?) Matina tomato.

I got Tamina free from T&M, so I'm only growing a couple to give them a try out

                          Hi folks

I'd like to add Silvery Fir Tree as a beautiful hanging basket plant - fabulous feathery foliage and excellent early large toms.

Also Principle Borgese an Italian plum job - well tasty and very heavy cropping.

and ... Black Cherry made the best vodka tomatoes ever (prick cherry toms over and then put into a marinade of vodka and sherry - bit of salt. Chill for a couple of hours, then SCOFF - it's like a solid Bloody Mary!)

                          Cheers

I got the Tamina too. Are you looking for it SBP ? (if yes, PM me) will probably give it a try this year.
                            I grow, I pick, I eat ...

Hi T-Lady, I reckon there might be a few trying your vodka tomatoes, they sound lethal!

What sort of crop do you get from Principe Borg (resistance is futile?)? I hoped they might crop enough (even in our weather) to dry some. Did you grow them outdoors?
