Im amazed by the varieties there are available!!!

Last year was my first year growing tomatoes, so I didn't have anything to compare it to, mine were still flowering and fruiting in November in an unheated greenhouse (I don't think they knew they weren't supposed to so they just carried on, well I certainly wasn't going to tell them!), I think they would have carried on if the wind hadn't broken 10 panes of glass and turned the temperature sub zero!

I grew San Marzano, Gardeners Delight, Moneymaker and Garternperle. Would definately like to grow some black one's, and those I've already done another seed order this morning though, so I guess I'm going to have to wait till next year.

Ananas Noire and Teton de Venue look incredible, I had no idea tomatoes could look like that!

What sort of crop do you get from Principe Borg (resistance is futile?)? I hoped they might crop enough (even in our weather) to dry some. Did you grow them outdoors?
      Hi sbp

'Borg' would about cover it - they did get quite sprawly and took over some of the other plants' supports! Scarey huh?

I got a good crop of nice 1inch plum tomatoes and they are supposed to dry really well. (I turned all mine into soup and passata). Plants of Distinction sold me these seeds under the name of 'sun dried tomatoes'. I grew them in the greenhouse becasue the blight knocked out out all of my outdoor crop last year.

If I remember correctly, they started fruiting a little later than other varieties but were still cropping strongly when I cleared out the greenhouse in November.

Good luck with them - I'll have a look tonight to see if I've any Borg seed left over that I can let you have.

      Cheers

Thanks for the kind offer T-lady, this time resistance isn't futile....someone has already swapped me some.

I think I'll put a Borg in the greenhouse too (), the year before last we oven-dried some 'spare' toms and stored them in oil - they were really good!
