can i plant my courgettes out yet if i plant them under a plastic cover? they have been in the greenhouse for a while and are getting quite big now. my greenhouse is unheated and open all day.i would obviously get them more used to being outside but they are threatening to take over the greenhouse. the other thing is i wandered if you can grow them up an oblelisk or something as i dont have masses of space and would like to have a couple of varieties.

some varieties are more 'bush-like' and so don't take up as much space...what type you are you growing?

It would have to be a climbing courgette, the stem doesn't actually put on that much growth. You're better growing cucumbers, some pumpkins and squashes up an obelisk.

Leona courgettes grow into a big bush about 2 foot tall and they definately will not grow up an obelisk - no matter how much you try! There is a climbing courgette Tromboncino that you could try next year. The fruits on it look a bit weird but they might taste nice.
