love the idea and would buy one if I could afford it. Why rosemary though? All it takes to grow rosemary is one of my dogs breaking a piece off and plonking it in water. It roots in no time at all.

I used rosemary cuttings because neither my chillis nor my tomatos were ready to go in it,and I was itching to try it out and rosemary was the only thing I could think of using as I already have a load of plants in the front garden.

These have been in the hydroponic system for a few days now, tomatos siletz, aubergine black beauty and jalapeno gigantica.
Oh and thats a cd case resting on top to give you an idea of the size
The tomatos and that chilli plant plus few more jalapenos plants that I need to put into the system will be grown indoors but the aubergines will be taken to the allotment greenhouse when it gets a bit warmer.

Nice thread crichmond its nice to see someone else having ago at hydro growing. Ive been growing indoors now for a couple of years, only problem is having enough room to grow everything i want to.
I use a simple flood and drain system that I built myself from things I picked up from B&Q, except for pumps which came from my local aquatic centre.
Its ideal for growing strawberries and toms and lettuce, which is all ive done so far.
Im venturing out this year to try something else, just not sure what yet.
If you need any help at all give me a shout and I'll help if I can.
All four plants have largish flower heads on now which are starting to open, the picture below is the biggest plant so I think I will change over to the High pressure sodium lamp tommorrow for flowering/fruiting stage.

I am jealous ,Crichmon . I was so exited when spotted some (primordial) flower buds on my toms and seeing my tomatillo blooming but your tom has already produced a fruit... but honestly I am happy for your success .
Keep us inform about their progress and thanks for the picture .
well one of them finally turned red, so I picked it (10 minutes ago) I took the photo below and then sliced it up with a knife and ate it with a sprinkling of salt.
The tomato had hardly any smell when sniffed until cut, but the taste was excellent a very deep tomato taste with no bitterness at all and nice and juicy. it had seeds but also had plenty of flesh as well and seemed quite meaty.
