Sowed half a dozen Fatalii on Wednesday, they're still in the heated propagator, but nothing's happening yet. I'm seriously thinking about buying another propagator though because, as always at this time of year, things are starting to queue for it

I planted a mixed selection of French capsicums in January before I left for work.
The last recalcitrant poivre stuck its head above ground during the night, so thats all 6 up and running. Was an experiment as planted very early but they also do need a long growing season so am hoping for the best

mine lipstick peppers have come up 5 out of 7 the other 2 may be on their way planted 7 hows everyelse doing

I sowed my Lipstick on 8 Feb (tha's just over a week along) but only one seed with lots of long type Italian peppers (Dolce de Bergamo) as I have too many seeds so can afford to waste them. Running out of patience with peppers and aubergines as per germination. I'm thinking of transferring them to another shallower dish.

Same problem here with the queuing . But things are getting better as I'm finding ways of cramming more in. As it's my first time with heated propagator I started off with 11-12 of 3" pots at any one time and the germination was pathetic and low. I'm now using a shallow plastic dish that came with Tiramisu (only just over an inch deep) and sow a good assortments of seeds but I do them in neat rows and rough columns so that I know roughly which seeds are which as I note them down. The result is almost instantaneous, okay it feels like that but about 4-5 days onwards. I'm going to transfer the stubborn peppers and aubgerines to this shallow dish. I hoick out using teaspoon or a handy Japanese chopstick any that has germinated before others to transfer them to individual 3" pot if necessary. I'm quite pleased with my techniques and strategy so don't feel the need to get a 2nd propagator and my house says no anyway on space/storage ground .
