I'm probably not doing shallots this year but for anyone who had a bad crop last year due to all that wet weather this should give you heart.

Had to call T&M to chase potato order and the lady I spoke to said 7 out of 9 varieties had been withdrawn - although the web site just shows out of stock - due to the growing and subsequent storage conditions. They just weren't keeping properly and were full of mildew.

So even the professional growers and seed men were having probs!

yep 50p a bag, its fantastic!
cheap compost and free mushrooms last year.
give them a ring around ten then they leave it outside for you to pick up and you can drop the money through the letterbox.
it was brilliant , but got a bit sick after a while of the mushrooms growing through and pushing out my seedlings!!

Hi LL and Buttercup, fancy you two being down the road too!
What do you mean by the Haywaynes grape map?! As I've mentioned, I'm a special case when it comes to computers!! ahhhhh!

This year I plan to grow:
                              Salad and spinach
Mizuna (so easy and v tasty)
                              potatoes
                              carrots (trying multi-colours this time)
                              parsnips
                              lots of squash and courgettes
                              sweetcorn
                              runner/french beans
                              most of allium family
                              kale, winter cabbage, sprouts, sprouting
                              celariac
                              fennel

Plus have strawbs, rasps and rhubarb
oh, and will have a cutting patch and a veg patch for my 3 year old daughter, who insists on growing mainly strawberries!

Well thats the plan, or it was until I fractured my toe today that is!!
