I went into the local plant centre this morning and there they were two sweetcorn plants. Just sitting there all on their own. I had to get them! So they are now in the polytunnel. Apparently Janet, our plantswoman at the centre, has grown them in her polytunnel over the last four years, with varying degrees of success. (No corn last year, but then I didn't even get a tomato last year.)

So i'll give it a go and let you know how I get on. Do I give them losts of water now? I undertand you do when the corns are filling. At the moment they are about 18 inches high.

    Ooohhh sooooooooo excited

I planted my sweetcorn seedlings out a few weeks ago & put lemonade bottle cloches over the top to protect them from the frost etc, but they seem to be turning brown and dying off - did I plant them out too early??

Thanks for that George and good luck Jennie. I'm still waiting until next year to see how everyone gets on so keep the info coming.
