Can't see why not? You could try feeding them with tommy food, see if it'll kick start some flowering? Are they big enough to flower, or still growing?

White or purple shouldn't make any difference they should both be in full swing in the south by now, Ive been picking for at least 3 weeks and the stuff is coming out me ears. I looked this afternoon and there is enough for at least 6 bags for the freezer. 1 bag = meal for 2.
Don't think it would be wise to try moving a mature plant, pot your strawberries up in pots for a few weeks. It will be worth waiting for the WSB.
If anyone is interested there is now a summer PSB that you can sow now for cropping Aug/Sept time.

My 9 PSB plants went in the ground on 29th July last year and are just thinking about producing the central heads now.

My PSB weren't showing any signs of sprouting last week either and went in around the same time as yours I think Piskie. But they're on the plot so, while I could do with that space back fairly shortly, I can wait another few weeks. (None of my "winter" brassicas are harvested yet - cabbages only beginning to heart, PSB not sprouting and no sign of curds on caulis - so may be eating a lot of "spring greens" in coming weeks )
