I had some of those vales emerald where you just paid 95p postage, the have been in an egg box chitting in one of the green houses but for some reason they started frothing dont know why.
My other potatoes that are chitting in the other greenhouse are all fine so is it just something to do with the vales emeralds or what?

    Cheers Chris

Just nipped out to check ours, they seem okay, no froth!

Oh dear, froth sounds as if they are rotting and fermenting. Check and feel if they are soft. If so contact the supplier and demand a refund (assuming they have been kept in the same conditions as your other seed spuds which are OK).

Potatoes have natural sugar in them, there will be natural yeast on the skins, add to that a damp shed and you've got fermentation. I think your pots are self composting
