I used Nemaslug last year as we had a major slug and snail infestation. I was out every night with my head torch and scissors cuttong them in half all over the place. The strange thing is, is that this year I've not had any slug problems at all apart from the odd nibble on a leaf here and there. We've had really wet weather and they just dont seem to be appearing. I'm chuffed to bits and wonder whether I killed them all off with the Nemaslug last year. Or maybe they are lulling me into a false sense of security and hundreads of them are going to attack one night and eat the entire garden...I'll keep you posted.

Hello Adam - there is a commercial size unit of Nemaslug available which contains 250million nematodes but this would treat between 1000-5000m2 depending on size of problem and duration of crop (costs around £100 plus VAT). This is probably way too big for your needs so try the smaller unit of 30million (around £22 plus VAT & delivery). Normal stockists such as Green Gardener, Harrods or Scarletts should be able to supply but if you have trouble getting it send me a private message and I'll give you another number.

I bought the Gardening Success slug pellets at the weekend. I have cats so wanted something that was kind to animals (apart from slugs and snails that is!). Will report back on whether they work. My garden is overrun with snails at the mo and I'm sick of having to pick them off by hand.

This month's GYO mag has a tast on six of the best slug and snail controls - makes for interesting reading and we should all find it useful judging bythe number of posts concerning these hungry little beggars.Rat
