I've got a couple of spare planters which are about 8 inches deep. Do you reckon these would be alright for cabbage?

If they're fairly wide as well Doggler you could give it a go, you'll probably just get a smaller than usual cabbage- I've found this when planting close together in a 'square foot' veg. bed.They would be better for one of the 'mini' cabbage varieties that you can buy though.
