Red Robin Tomatoes

Dear Grapes,

I saw this tomatoes several weeks ago in our local garden centre. Have you ever grow this cherry tomato before ?
It is said to be bush (determinant) but I have no idea how tall does it grow ?
Does it taste good ?

I am growing Robin F1 - a mini tomato this year Momol. I grew one a couple of years ago and it got to about 25cm tall but I did plant it late. Madmax maybe tasted a fruit from it but we didn't get many as I was so late planting. I planted the last of my seeds and have one seedling so might have a better idea this year what they taste like (if it survives). I don't know if this is the same as you were looking for.

Shirley, I am not sure it is a F1 Red Robin,it was in the group of dwarf/ pot tomatoes (also Totem, Minibel and Tiny Tim).
I didn't pay much attention as there was so many seeds, potatoes seeds, onions - shallots bulbs... and seedlings. I was honestly distracted and didn't even remember the seeds company and now I can't read further info about it!
If it grow to 25cm and taste good, oh I might give in for extra tomatoes.
Will try to search further about it, thanks for the info .

I asked Madmax to send you a pm as I was up to my ears in bother over the weekend. Yes the seeds did arrive thank you very much. Madmax has been asked to post yours as he didn't make it to visit you over the weekend. Hope he remembers that - he is working night shifts and as a result his brain doesn't seem to work in the daytime (I suppose he needs some sleep)

Glad they arrived . Thanks Shirley for the PM, Martin will send them . We got back last saturday afternoon and found our garden in sad condition... after all the extra work, we could't meet up with Martin.

Oh dear I might actually give in after all . I will only go to the garden centre this weekend though.

Stupid question time... are tomatoes self fertile? As this is (Red Robin) an indoor tomato (sat on my office windowsil) there are no insects to pollinate it, will i need to do anything to the tiny flowers that are just starting to develop?

Generally speaking, if you occasionally tap the stem of the plant, it will shed its pollen onto itself and you will get fruits. Lots of people do that when the toms are in an open greenhouse or even the garden. Belt and braces!
