  • Germinating peas (or not!)

I planted my first lot of peas (Kelvedon wonder) 2 weeks ago and there is no sign of any of them germinating yet. They are indoors, in an unheated north-facing conservatory so it's quite chilly in there.

I was expecting them to be showing some signs of growth by now. Is it just too cold in there? Should I bring them into the house at least until they germinate, or just wait a bit more patiently?

I'd wait a bit - unless you want to get a second sowing in for succession. Certainly don't give up on them - could be another week or two but I'm sure they'll come.

I sowed some pea outdoors two weeks ago and when checked today they're still not up either. Hopefully they''ll be up in the next week or so, don't think its mice as I've protected them with lots of prickly hollys and sticks etc.
Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

I sowed mine early feb and they took nearly 4 weeks to come up! (over excited and over eager!) but they are doing very well now. Don't give up on them just yet.......

mine have just come up too. They are in peat pots in a plastic multi-grow. Been in for about 3 weeks now, and only just starting to peep through...

Looks like I will have to be a little bit more patient then and get the next lot in now too!

Personally, I would wait (and did) to sow the next row for a bit, as the weather warms up the next lot will probably germinate faster and the two will end up ready together - which would defeat the idea os succession sowing!!!
