Sweet Potatoes

Hi

I want to grow sweet potatoes but have no idea where to start. Can anyone advise of the "How & When" of sweet potatoe growing

Really, sweet potatoes do best grown under cover or at the very least when any threat of frost has passed. They are tender. If you have last months GYO i think there's an article in there about growing them. I'll see if i can find a link for you.

Iv'e got one growing. Scrubbed it well to remove any germinating inhibitor and the put it in water until I could see evidence of roots. When I could I put it in a pot of damp compost and now I have 4 or 5 tiny shoots appearing. As per the advice on other threads I will wait until they are 2 ins long and then cut them off and root them prior to planting out on June under a cloche.
