I live in Kent. My broad beans are 3ft high in full flower. My potatoes are pushing up through the black plastic. I've just looked out and the garden is covered in white stuff! Haven't seen it for years.

I was stung by a wasp today! The little darling was waiting in the greenhouse ready to ambush me times - not good.

It's colder than ever where I am. This winter has had some of the coldest nights in many years and there hasn't been much sun. My broad beans are all but dead.

But we have had snow at this time before and even in April. It is far more unusual to have snow at Christmas round here.

Must be global warming! I lived in Kent for about four years as a child(1962-1966) and remember deep snow and FREEZING winters. I also remember orchards filled with blossom in springtime and fields of veg. in summer. All gone now, according to a friend who visits regularly.

There was a lot of snow at Easter in 1982 - I was a student and had difficulty getting back to university after the break. It's not so much the timing of the snow as the lack of it - I haven't seen more than a couple of centimetres at a time since I moved to Cambridge ten years ago

We had a wasp in our conservatory at the weekend - however either the cold snap, or a surfeit of the honey I left out as bait, more or less finished it off, and I found it buzzing feebly under the mini-greenhouse, whereupon I squished it - mwa-ha-ha!
