my leeks are bending over

My leeks have been in the ground all winter, they are now bending over; they seem to have soft stems.
Is this a recognised problem?

Not something I've come across Tigerella. What variety of leeks are they? Have you lifted any to see what the roots are like, or if there's any kind of pest in them?

Some of mine did the same thing and when I dug then up the leeks were rotting. Roots looked OK though. Could be the wet and cold.
