  • Broad Beans

I planted my broad beans before Christmas and they are doing very well moved a few yesterday as they were too far apart (new to growing veg ).
I have put bamboo canes on the ends of each row with string tied across,
( two string lines ) as the beans are getting quite tall do i need to support them with anything else ? I am afraid they will snap if the wind is strong again, i have noticed other people have planted them much closer together so will naturally support each other.
This forum is great and I like the way people give advice to newcomers like me.
    Regards to all Jackie J

Not sure, to be honest - I've got mine in a netting tunnel, since there are a lot of pigeons on our lottie site, and I thought their new leaves would be more vulnerable than the winter sowings on other plots. So far it's doing a good job of protecting them from the worst of the weather as well.

How far apart are your plants now?

Its the rows that are too far apart rather than the plants if you get my drift. We do have pigeons but i put old cd's on the string.
