    I'm assuming a weed given that I haven't planted anything there!

      hmm, I don't think so - the leaves are more serrated - although could that be because they are young?

                            The first plants I ever planted in my first garden were a Jackmanii and Nelly Moser clematis to climb over the front doorway! A couple of years ago I was passing my old house and they were still there, thirty years on!
