  • When putting up hanging baskets.........

do you drill into the mortar or the brick?
I have to put up quite a few for the various veggies I'm going to try in baskets but can't decide which is best, I'm thinking probably the brick?

    Thanks in advance x

Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

Personally I always (where possible) fix into the brick. You can never be too sure of the integrity of the mortar.

I see quite a few people putting the brackets upside down oddly enough.

Takes all sorts to make a world.

Yep - always drill into the brick or stone - the mortar just will not be strong enough over time.
