      Hi nemo,

Looks as though I'm in the same neck of the woods as you are, I didn't know there was a recycling yard around here, could you tell me where it is? Herself will be well impressed if I take her there, we went to a garden center today and I managed to scrounge a couple of hundred plastic plant pots

      cheers KC

          hi king carrot
the dump in cahersiveen is where old washing machines etc are drop off by the public some times there could be 20 or so and more times it could be cookers ,fridges etc the council then send them off. you can also bring house hold rubbish and pay by kilo or a boot full for a set price news papers clothes cans all the usual recyclable stuff can be recycled for free
          regards nemo

the washing machine windows are attached to the machine. i never came across household windows at the yard but we build a shed and we got those windows from a window manufacturer they were all seconds and worked out very good as we build the shed around the sizeof the windows we got
most companies are eager to get rid of them after all a few euros/pounds are better than none at all
            regards nemo

I just love the washing machine window! Class idea. I have reused the drum even the motor before but never seen that one.

Tigerella, you need to ring some builders to source windows and doors. I have quite a few in my yard from my house renovating days. Buy them a drink they'll probably drop them off for you. HOWEVER...Do please take care as a structure like that might need a bit of experiace to be made safe structurally. Also old windows are not toughened glass (as a rule). Large spans above you head are not a good idea.

Thats an excellent idea, I have made my cold frames from wood and for the top I have used the glass doors of network cabinets.
